Change management in government

Change affects all Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS) agencies at some point and managing change requires good communication and leadership.

There are obligations regarding change management within all NTPS enterprise agreements.

Agencies must manage change in the best interests of employees and there are clear guidelines that they must follow to ensure that:

  • there is proper consultation with employees and unions
  • the change process is properly resourced
  • fair human resources management principles are used
  • all actions promote positive industrial relations.
