NTPS ATSI employee forum
The Northern Territory Public Service (NTPS) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Employee Forum is a key initiative within the NTPS Indigenous Employment and Career Development Strategy 2015-2020.
The forum focuses on exploring current issues and challenges affecting ATSI employees within the NTPS. It also provides participants with the opportunity to discuss and contribute ideas into future employment and career development initiatives across the sector.
The first forum was held in Darwin on 25 October 2016, with 122 employees attending. Participants represented 16 agencies and were from a range of locations including Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Nhulunbuy, Groote Eylandt, Wadeye, Maningrida, Mataranka, Batchelor, Mary River, Timber Creek and Yuendumu.
Due to feedback from participants, the forum will be extended to two days and held in Darwin and Alice Springs in 2017. The forum will continue to be based on a workshop style and numbers have been limited to 100 places.
The Alice Springs forum will be held on Wednesday 31 May and Thursday 1 June. The Darwin forum will be scheduled in late October 2017.
