I grew up in dairying country in Victoria – a far cry from the desert region of Alice Springs! I joined the Northern Territory Geological Survey in 1981. Initially based in the Darwin office, I worked on mapping projects in the Litchfield and Pine Creek areas until 1987. I then moved to Alice Springs, and worked in the Kulgera, Docker River/Petermann Ranges, Mount Doreen, Lake MacKay, Kintore and Papunya regions. I also spent a few years in the early 1990’s undertaking land resource mapping on several stations in the Barkly Region (Alroy Downs, Brunette Downs, Walhallow, Mittiebah). I am currently manager of the Basin Geoscience team which is involved in projects in the Amadeus, Perdirka and Eromanga basins in central Australia, and projects across the Victoria River district/Tennant Creek region/Gulf country in the north.

I am a parent to three lovely young adults, nonetheless my partner Peter and I are enjoying being empty-nesters. I am a passionate equestrian and always have a few horses around. For a time I was breeding my own horses which I loved but the bank balance eventually said no!

I love living and working in the NT, and consider myself extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to visit so many of its incredible and remote areas during my career.
