Silver linings - beyond the silos
COVID-19 came as a dramatic shock for the Australian and global economies. The lessons learned about workforce agility, collaborative innovation and industry working with government to overcome the challenges need to be remembered, and embedded as “business as usual” practice as business, industry and the community pivots to respond to the new normal.
A recent global forum, facilitated through the OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation (Government After Shock), gave voice to lessons learned by public sectors around the world in responding to COVID-19. This included examining the things that should be kept, the things that should be done differently, and the things that we need to leave behind.
OCPE, in collaboration with Charles Darwin University’s Northern Institute, delivered an online event for the Government After Shock forum. We showcased the inspiring and creative responses to COVID-19 challenges in the NT, and how the public sector and its partners worked together in new ways.
The NT’s event had a global audience, with people tuning in from as far away as Thessaloniki in Greece, New York in the USA, most Australian capital cities, Alice Springs, and Galiwinku in the NT!
A summary report about the event has been published and can be accessed from the OECD-OPSI website. You can learn about the NT specific insights, mindsets, structures and new ways of working that we heard about from our speakers.
