Bulletin 15 - Approval process for the Medical Officers Northern Territory Public Sector 2026 – 2029 Enterprise Agreement - issued 24 September 2026

As advised in Bulletin 14 (issued 9 September 2026) the Medical Officers Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS) 2026 – 2029 Enterprise Agreement (the Agreement) was endorsed by a majority of Medical Officers who voted in the ballot which concluded on 9 September 2026.

An application for formal approval of the Agreement from the Fair Work Commission has now been lodged (22 September 2026).

The Medical Officers NTPS 2026 – 2029 Enterprise Agreement will not come into effect until 7 days after the Fair Work Commission approve the Agreement, noting the Agreement provides pay increases to commence from 12 March 2026.

Next steps

The timing for payment of the first salary increases, which will be backdated to 12 March 2026, will be finalised once the Fair Work Commission approves the agreement. Once approval has been received, Medical Officers will be advised of the payment schedule and when the new conditions commence.
