Bulletin 16 - Approval of the Medical Officers Northern Territory Public Sector 2026 - 2029 Enterprise Agreement - issued October 2026

After the success of the ballot outcome on 9 September 2026, I am pleased to advise that on 13 October 2026 the Fair Work Commission approved the Medical Officers Northern Territory Public Sector 2026 - 2029 Enterprise Agreement (the Agreement).

This is an excellent outcome as the Agreement provides increases to salary and allowance increases and significant improvements to the terms and conditions of employment for Medical Officers.

In accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009, the Agreement formally commences on 20 October 2026, which is 7 days after it was approved. This is the date all your terms and conditions in the Medical Officers Northern Territory Public Sector 2026 - 2029 Enterprise Agreement will be effective from.

Next steps

The Department of Corporate and Digital Development are working expediently to process the new salary rates provided for in the Agreement.
