Bulletin 7 - Ballot Open – Have your say - issued 6 February 2026
The ballot for the proposed Medical Officers Northern Territory Public Sector 2026 - 2029 Enterprise Agreement has now opened.
It is important that you have your say by voting on the proposed agreement.
Your vote needs to be received prior to the ballot closing at 10am on Friday 20 February 2026.
All employees who will be covered by the proposed Medical Officers Northern Territory Public Sector 2026 – 2029 Enterprise Agreement are eligible to vote. You do not need to be a union member to participate in the ballot.

Today, Friday 6 February 2026, you will receive an email link from Vero Engagement and Voting Solutions Pty Ltd (Vero), providing you your unique login credentials and details about how to cast your confidential vote.

Why vote yes
This offer maintains an existing package of competitive leave and other entitlements, including a range of improvements such as:
- Simplified salary spine providing transitional increases that range from between 7.17% to 14.16% for most Registrars, and 5.31% or 10.62% for Senior Rural Generalist and Senior Rural Medical Practitioners. Medical Officers moving into these streams will also benefit from the improved salaries and career structure.
- 2.7% per annum salary increases, which is equivalent to approximately 11.25% compounding over 4 years, and along with salary increases under the simplified salary spine is the maximum provided for under the Northern Territory Public Sector 2025-2028 Wages Policy PDF (133.0 KB).
- Faster pay progressions through automatic increments and removal of progression barriers.
- Additional recreation leave at 5 and 10 years’ service to accrue progressively.
- New and improved leave entitlements – Professional Development Leave, Leave to Engage in Voluntary Emergency Management Activities, Organ Donor Leave, and Blood Plasma Leave.
- Mandatory day off when moving between towns for rotations.
- Inclusion of Determinations and By-Laws for: Advanced Recreation leave; Long Service Leave; Community Language Allowance; and Northern Territory Allowance.
