Bulletin 9 - Ballot outcome - issued 20 February 2026

I wish to advise the proposed Medical Officers Northern Territory Public Sector 2026 - 2029 Enterprise Agreement was not approved by the majority of Medical Officers who voted in the ballot process.

The results of the ballot conducted by Vero Voting was as follows:

Number of Votes
Yes 99
No 454
Total 553

Next steps

I believe conducting a ballot for the new Agreement was the right approach and allowed Medical Officers to have their say on the proposed improvements to terms and conditions of employment including the offer of a compounding pay increase of 11.25% over the term of the Agreement, and a new simplified salary spine proving some transitional increases of up to 14.16%.

I will now consider the next steps and remind Medical Officers that bargaining is subject to the NTPS
2025–2028 Wages Policy and the constraints of the current budget parameters.

Thanks to everyone involved

Thank you to all Medical Officers who participated in the ballot. It is important that employees take part in the enterprise agreement process and your involvement is appreciated.
