Bulletin 12 - ballot outcome - issued 20 March 2026

I wish to advise the proposed Northern Territory Public Sector Fire and Rescue Service 2025 – 2029 Enterprise Agreement was not approved by the majority of employees who voted in the ballot process.

The results of the ballot conducted by Vero Voting was as follows:

 Number of Votes
Yes 0
No 192
Total192

Next steps

I acknowledge the outcome of the vote, however, maintain the improvements to terms and conditions of employment including the offer of a compounding pay increase of 12.55% over the term of the Agreement were fair and reasonable. This offer balanced operational requirements and delivered an agreement that supports the vital work the NTFRS do every day and ensured NTFRS remains one of the most competitive fire services in the country.

I will now consider the next steps and remind employees that bargaining is subject to the NTPS  2025–2028 Wages Policy and the constraints of the current budget parameters.
