Bulletin 15 - revised offer following FWC recommendations and employee ballot - issued 28 May 2026
I refer to my previous update, bulletin 14, in which I outlined the improved offer for a new NTFRS Enterprise Agreement on 6 May 2026.
In that bulletin, I advised that I had accepted Commissioner Riordan’s recommendations PDF (290.9 KB) in full and incorporated them into a revised offer. In doing so, I note the Commissioner’s view that the agreement contains significant benefits for firefighters, including a wage outcome above standard NTPS Wages Policy parameters, as well as targeted improvements to allowances and conditions.
We have genuinely listened to the issues raised and have put a further improved offer on the table that continues to position the Northern Territory as one of the most competitive jurisdictions nationally. Under this offer, the NT will rank second highest across most firefighter classifications and first for leading firefighters.
It is a very good offer that I strongly encourage each of you to support when put to the vote next week.
Watch the video about the significant concessions/improvements made during the recent s240 process.

Take the time to review the full details of the offer PDF (7.2 MB) so you can clearly understand what further improvements have been added to your last offer and make an informed decision for your terms and conditions of employment.
Next steps
Tomorrow you will be sent information regarding the proposed NTPS Fire and Rescue Service 2025–2029 Enterprise Agreement, including a link to the proposed agreement and an explanatory document highlighting the changes compared to your current agreement.
Hard copies of these documents will also be available throughout your workplace. This will provide you the opportunity to understand the offer and see what improvements are proposed.
The ballot process will be conducted by Vero Engagement and Voting Solutions Pty Ltd (Vero), and you will be sent an email by Vero on 4 June 2026 which will provide your unique login credentials and details about how to cast your confidential vote.
Ballot timeline
The timeline is as follows:

The ballot count will be conducted at the Vero Voting office (5/100 Railway Road, Subiaco WA 6008). I will advise employees of the ballot result via a bulletin and a notice on NTPS Fire and Rescue Service Enterprise Agreement negotiations.
