Bulletin 19 - ballot outcome - issued 22 June 2026

I wish to advise the proposed Northern Territory Public Sector Fire and Rescue Service 2025 – 2029 Enterprise Agreement was not approved by the majority of employees who voted in the ballot process.

The outcome is disappointing given the offer aligned in full to the Recommendation handed down by the Fair Work Commission as part of the s240 process.

Next steps

The offer contained significant improvements to the terms and conditions for NT firefighters and continued to ensure your position remains one of the most competitive fire services in the country.

With all avenues exhausted to reach agreement, I am seeking for the Fair Work Commission to assist moving forward to settle these negotiations.
