As reported in Bulletin 5 the Australian Education Union (AEU) accepted my significantly improved offer to settle the enterprise agreement negotiations which commenced in February 2024.
Drafting of the new “Northern Territory Public Sector Educators’ 2024-2027 Enterprise Agreement” has now been completed, and it is now time to give you the opportunity to have your say.
Summary of the improvements
The key improvements provide generous salary and allowance increases for all employees, new Classroom Teacher and Aboriginal Team Teacher structures, increased non-contact time, and reduced class sizes amongst other significant enhancements to your conditions of employment. See here for full details of the improved offer.
Ballot Process – Your Vote is confidential
The ballot process will be conducted by the Northern Territory Electoral Commission (NTEC).
On 4 September 2024 you will be sent information regarding the proposed “Northern Territory Public Sector Educators’ 2024-2027 Enterprise Agreement”, including a link to the proposed agreement and an explanatory document highlighting the changes compared with your current agreement. Hard copies of these documents will also be available throughout your workplace.
The ballot process will be an electronic ballot. A preliminary email will be sent to your NTPS email address from NTEC (Netvote), the day before the ballot opens. On 12 September 2024 the ballot will open and you will receive a further email that will include a unique identifier and instructions on how to cast your confidential electronic vote. You will need your AGS number to complete the ballot process.
The electronic ballot will be emailed to your email address recorded in myHR. If you won't have access to your NTPS email during the ballot period or would prefer the electronic ballot to be sent to your private email address, please email enquiries.ocpe@nt.gov.au or phone 08 8999 4282, and provide your preferred email address.
