Bulletin 2 - enterprise agreement negotiations commenced – issued 23 March 2026

Negotiations commenced

The first negotiation meeting for a new Territory Generation Enterprise Agreement was held on 19 March 2026.

This was a productive meeting attended by the Electrical Trades Union, Community and Public Sector Union, Australian Manufacturing Workers Union, Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers Australia (Professionals Australia) and their workplace delegates, two self-nominated bargaining representatives together with representatives from Territory Generation and my office.

The unions advised they have formed a ‘Single Bargaining Unit’ and should be in a position to provide a consolidated log of claims for the next meeting, however broadly discussed a range of areas their claims will be focussing on.  A range of employer based proposals were also discussed, including NTPS ‘common conditions’, and some general areas covering Territory Generation initiatives.

The parties also discussed the bargaining process and committed to work constructively to finalise a new agreement.  It is my intention to provide an offer for a new agreement before the expiry of the current agreement on 15 July 2026, and in line with the Northern Territory Public Sector Bargaining Policy 2025 - 2028.
