Department of Health

I have lived in the NT for most of my life; Gove in the early 70s, and Darwin since 1979.

There is no other place that I could ever imagine calling home.

I have been with Department of Health (DoH) since 1989 when I was accepted for Enrolled Nurse training at Alice Springs Hospital.

Upon my return to Darwin I worked on the Orthopaedic, Infectious Diseases and Constant Care Wards. Graduating as a Registered Nurse in 2006, I worked in this role until I transferred to the newly created Health Policy Guidelines Program, a project of Library Services, in 2010. The program uses an electronic document repository to allow DoH employees to access current, approved policy and procedures. The Policy Guidelines Centre, an in-house repository, went live mid 2015.

The 2016 Chief Minister's Award for Strengthening Government and Public Administration was awarded to our team for its development and implementation.

The role of the unit continues to evolve and I enjoy being a part of the transformation.
