Michael White
Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services
I moved to the Northern Territory in September 1984 from Victoria to join the NT Police.
Having served across much of the NT throughout my career including Darwin, Batchelor, Nhulunbuy, Katherine and Alice Springs, I have significant experience and understanding of community needs and expectations.
As a qualified detective I have investigated the most serious crimes including homicides, significant drug offences and other crimes.
A career break at the Department of Housing as the Executive Director Service Delivery Central provided me with the opportunity to further expand my knowledge and service to the community.
In 2018 I was awarded the Australian Police Medal for outstanding police service at the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
I was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner in December 2018, and currently head the People & Cultural Reform portfolio.
