Department of Health

I started my time working at the Royal Darwin Hospital as an 18year old as a cleaner on the 17 of December 1984. When I started there were about 104 staff in the cleaning section, where we wore khaki shirt and shorts. The hospital had won awards for being the cleanest in the country.

After about 5 years, I applied for a job as a wardsman, which I was successful.

Eventually the Wardsman, and the hospital assistant merged and became what is now called Patient Care Assistants. In 1997 I transferred to security, and Where I am currently.
