Jodi Reed

Department of Treasury and Finance

Starting with Education’s Open College in 1990 I made some lifelong friends, learned about remote communities and some of the issues facing the Territory. My family has a long history with the NT. My father Peter O’Shea ran the Penthouse nightclub in Darwin in the 60s, so it was good to learn about areas outside Darwin.

During maternity leave in 1998 I was transferred during the creation of the Department of Corporate and Information Services into their corporate reporting area. Shortly after, I joined Treasury’s Financial Budget Analysis Division (BAD) to undertake the Territory’s federal reporting requirements – a role that developed my skills in the financial arena. With stints in Arts and Museums, Housing, Justice and other agencies, as well as several NT Budgets and two more babies (boys boys boys) I moved into the Financial Accountant role with Tourism NT and undertaking both governance and procurement manager roles.

In 2013 I won the position of Business Manager with the Department of Transport’s Road Network Division and met an incredible team of engineers - miss you guys! During this time I got involved in the disaster management field and was again seconded to Treasury in 2018 after TC Marcus to help with the large amount of data from the event. I remain in this field and love it – I have found my “niche”
