Lilia Cercarelli

Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security

I’m a born and bred Territorian.

My Territory story incudes growing up in a fabulous multi-cultural community, living through Cyclone Tracey, watching Darwin being rebuilt and later commencing my career with the Northern Territory Government on 15 December 1980.

My first job was with the Department of Transport and Works in the Finance area.

I was fortunate enough over the course of my career to be given the opportunity to work in different areas, ranging from Finance, General Services, Human Resource, Business Management areas and now Executive Officer for Parks and Wildlife.

I have worked in a number of agencies including Transport and Works, Power and Water, Department of the Attorney General and Justice, Supreme Court, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Tourism and Culture and Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security.

My Public Sector career has provided me with great opportunity to develop and learn. I have seen many changes within the Human Resources space and within the information technology areas and some significant projects such as establishment of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, completion of the railway corridor, and Closing the Gap.

Along the way I have obtained a Diploma of Public Administration, worked on some significant projects and more importantly met some wonderful people, mentors and friends.
