Rob has worked in the NT public sector since 1976 and worked in over a dozen Government Departments across various parts of the Territory. His roles have been very diverse, from rolling up his sleeves in a work shed to developing high-level strategies.
Following a job opportunity he moved to the Territory and commenced his first role in the NT Government (NTG) as an apprentice mechanic.
A few of Rob’s greatest achievements while working in the NT public sector include: helping out during the Katherine Flood, opening and managing the apprenticeship/traineeship office to the Katherine region and developing and implementing three NTG employment strategies and project managing two Remote Towns Job Profiles across 28 remote towns in the Territory.
“Working for the NTG provided so many variations, challenges and opportunities - it’s never the same job day in day out.”
Rob has worked throughout many changes in Government and believes the key is staying adaptable and flexible. He is extremely grateful for the range of opportunities the NT public sector have provided him and has worked with many great people, senior staff proving professional leadership and alongside so many dedicated staff who to this day are true friends fantastic.
