Belinda Burkitt

Department of Education

Completing my year 12 two weeks prior, I began my career with the NTPS in late 1991. On my first day, I commenced with two clear instructions from my dad: 'you will not take leave in the first 12 months, and 'until you have kids of your own, you can never take leave during school holidays'. I laugh now when I think back to my first day. I had no career plans, but I knew being a born and bred Territorian, my opportunities could be endless. This has proven true for me.

I have held administration roles with the Darwin Magistrates Court, Department of Chief Minister, Territory Health Services and Department of Education.

I have worked on countless projects across the years, allowing me to gain experience on a wide range of challenging projects and tasks. I completed Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management Course in 2014.

My family and I have a long history with the NT.

I am grateful for the experiences and the opportunity to work alongside dedicated and passionate colleagues.
