Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade

I started full time employment in 1981 at the age of 17, as an apprentice electrician with the NT Department of Transport & Works - Aboriginal Essential Services, Alice Springs.

Completing my electrical trade qualification in 1985, I went on to work for numerous NT Government departments including: NT Electricity Commission (NTEC), Power and Water Authority, then a period in the private sector from 1989 to 1990.

I returned to the NTG in 1990 with NTEC, then the Alice Springs power station, Channel Island power station, NT Treasury, the NT Racing and Gaming Authority, and the Department of Justice.

I was an electronic gaming inspector for 20 years, and have also completed two associate degrees during my NTG career.

Currently with the Department of Industry Tourism and Trade as a technical officer in the Smarter Business Solutions Program, assisting small business with energy efficiency projects.
