Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services

I joined the Northern Territory Police Force in February 1987. Over the years I have worked in general duties in urban, regional and remote locations, and also worked within criminal investigations, Territory intelligence, police prosecutions, and in the Joint Emergency Services communications centre.

I have gained qualifications as a crash investigator, police negotiator, detective, police prosecutor and intelligence officer during my career. I have worked across most of the top of the Northern Territory, having been stationed with my family at Darwin, Palmerston, Jabiru, Katherine, and the remote stations of Timber Creek, and Maranboy. I have also conducted relief duties in Mataranka, Gunbalunya, Daly River, Wadeye, Ngukurr, Kalkaringi, Lajamanu, Nhulunbuy, and even down in Alice Springs.

I was stationed at Maranboy in 1998 when the entire region flooded, and my second member and I received the commissioner's group commendation for our efforts during the floods. In 2009 I worked at Bulman community as part of the intervention, for Operation Themis, receiving the AFP Operations medal for these duties.

Policing runs in my family with my son, daughter in law and sister in law, also being members of the Northern Territory Police Force. I am currently back in Katherine working as a sergeant in general duties again.
