Tania Kolomitsev

Department of Education

I began my career as a teacher at Alyangula Area School in September 1985 moving from ‘down south’. Like everyone else at that time I thought I would give the Northern Territory (NT) ‘a go’ for a year. After 3 amazing years on Groote Eylandt I moved to Darwin. I taught at Karama, Nakara and Wulagi Primary Schools as well as getting the opportunity to go on a teaching exchange in England for one year.

The NT became my home and my children were born and raised in Darwin. The NT also gave me leadership opportunities and I worked as assistant principal at Driver and Leanyer schools. My first principal position took me back just over 30 years later to the place I started my career - Alyangula. I was very proud to get the chance to be principal at the school where my career started!

I am now loving my job as principal at Rosebery Primary School. I love living and working in the NT and love being part of the Rosebery community.
