Lyndell commenced working for the Northern Territory Department of Health at Darwin Hospital, Myilly Point, in 1968.
She started her career in TB control as an administration officer and then went on to countless decades as the front face of the Emergency Department. Lyndell also worked in nursing admin with Matron Lorraine Brennan, and Psychiatric Day Centre with Dr Cowdy, Dr Eastwell and Dr Wieteska.
In 1980, Lyndell moved to Royal Darwin Hospital as the outpatients and inpatients admissions officer, and theatre scheduling. Lyndell was seconded to the Palmerston Regional Hospital in 2018 to set up the administration aspects of the hospital services.
From April 2000 to June 2001, Lyndell took leave to care for her amazing mother, who grew her angel wings in April 2001. This exemplifies her mother’s angelic character who would be smiling down proudly today. Soon after returning to work Lyndell was a front facing worker receiving patients from the 2002 Bali bombings.
Throughout 5 decades of tireless commitment, Lyndell has exemplified the true meaning of selflessness and professionalism, embodying the core values that define the organisation. Leaving an indelible mark on Top End Health Services.
Over the course of half a century, Lyndell has consistently demonstrated a level of excellence that is second to none. Her expertise, compassion, and unwavering commitment to patient care have positively impacted countless lives within our community.
