Belinda Pearson
Department of Education
I have been fortunate to have a career within NT DET that has brought incredible opportunity, diversity, challenge and joy. A more rewarding range of roles I find difficult to imagine.
I started teaching at Bradshaw Primary School in 1994 and have taught in and led numerous urban and remote schools in the Central Region. I have worked up and down the Stuart Highway in a range of roles, advising teachers on curriculum, coordinating service delivery to schools and now, supporting leaders within the region to drive improvement for their schools and communities.
The biggest reward this role brings is when the young people who have graced your classroom, return to your sphere as teachers, parents, or as contributing members of the community coming to do their daily in your school. This is the ultimate testament to the success and impact of your work.
Children who grow into adults who are contributing to our community- job done well. Even though you may have only had a year of two together, your impact can be life long, and that is an amazing legacy.
