Aboriginal Employee Mentor Program
The Aboriginal Employee Mentor Program (AEMP) is a key initiative within the Aboriginal Employment and Career Development Strategy 2021 to 2025 PDF (15.4 MB).
It is a 12-month program designed to:
- support a mentee’s personal and professional goals by matching them with a suitable mentor
- be led by a mentor and mentee so they can form a mentoring agreement that best suits them.

Who can get involved
To be a mentor, you must be a Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS) employee from middle management (AO5 and above).
If you would like to be a mentee, you must identify as Aboriginal and be an NTPS employee of any level.

The following dates have been planned for the NTPS Aboriginal Employee Mentor Program.
Darwin
- 19 and 20 August – mentor workshop
- 23 August – mentee workshop.
Katherine
- 12 and 13 March - mentor workshop
- 14 March - mentee workshop
Alice Springs
- 16 and 17 April - mentor workshop
- 18 April - mentee workshop
- 8 and 9 October – mentor workshop
- 10 October – mentee workshop
Nhulunbuy
- 11 and 12 June - mentor workshop
- 13 June - mentee workshop
