Building integrity in the work that we do

The Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment (OCPE) is proud to support employees at all stages of their careers to understand not only what the Code of Conduct requires, but why it matters in delivering services to Territorians and maintaining confidence in the public sector.

Understanding these responsibilities early helps employees build a strong foundation for their careers while reinforcing the values and standards expected across the NTPS. The Code of Conduct is underpinned by public sector principles that promote accountability, fairness, merit, ethical practice and service to the community.

All public sector officers are required to undertake training which is available online and face-to-face.

The training highlights the responsibilities that come with working in the public sector and the importance of always demonstrating professionalism, ethical decision-making and sound judgement. Participants explore how the Code guides everyday workplace conduct, including the management of conflicts of interest, use of public resources, handling of information and maintaining respectful and professional behaviour.
