NAIDOC Week 2025 wrap up

NAIDOC Week 2025 has concluded after a week of vibrant events across the Northern Territory, celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Held from 6–13 July, this year’s theme ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy’ honouring leadership, the next generation and the enduring influence of their communities and ancestors.
Across the week, Territorians took part in a range of activities including cultural displays, yarning circles, BBQs and family fun days, workshops, art exhibitions and marches drew strong community participation. Poster competitions and NAIDOC-themed school activities helped engage young people. Hospitals hosted celebrations to mark the occasion, and special events were held at parks and cultural sites, including the unveiling of a new Aboriginal art space featuring work by Lynette Fejo at the Territory Wildlife Park.
These events were more than just celebrations — they were opportunities to listen, learn, and build respect, understanding and unity.
