Recognising the people behind Public Service

Published: 2 Nov 2026

Every day, Northern Territory Public Sector employees make a difference in the lives of Territorians through their dedication, expertise and commitment to public service.

In 2026, more than 1,000 employees across the sector are recognised for achieving service milestones of 10 years and beyond, reflecting decades of collective contribution to communities across the Territory.

For the first time, regional staff reaching 20+ years of service recognition are being formally celebrated with formal regional events ensuring they can share there significant milestones with their colleagues and family.

These milestones represent the work of teachers, health professionals, police officers, emergency services personnel, infrastructure teams and many others whose efforts help keep services running and communities connected, safe and supported.

Behind every milestone is a story of service, dedication and commitment to improving the lives of Territorians. Whether working on the frontline or behind the scenes, these employees bring valuable knowledge, expertise and professionalism to their roles every day.

Their contribution helps build a strong, capable and resilient public sector that delivers essential services and supports communities across the Territory.

As we celebrate these milestones, we thank all employees being recognised this year for their service and for the important role they play in delivering for Territorians.
