Pre-employment screening
In the Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS), pre-employment screening is necessary to ensure the:
- suitability
- integrity
- identity of people engaged to work in the NTPS.
What's included
The pre-employment screening will include:
- consideration of your skills and experience confirmed by referees who are well-placed, relevant and recent
- relevancy and authenticity of your qualifications
- conflicts of interest assessments
- any other factors relevant to the position.
What this means
If you are applying for a job in the NTPS you will undergo pre-employment screening.
Applicants who provide misleading or false information in a job application:
- will not be offered employment
- may be flagged which could impact future job opportunities.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to provide at least 2 professional referees with their application who can verify claims in the job application.
