Report domestic, family and sexual violence on the Northern Territory (NT) Government website. It's the law.
What support is available
The Commissioner for Public Employment recognises that domestic and family violence including sexual violence has a devastating impact on a significant proportion of the NT population.
A safe and supportive workplace can make a positive difference to employees experiencing different types of violence.
If you wish to seek support from your workplace, you should consider which manager/Workforce Services, DCDD or delegate that you feel most comfortable talking to about your circumstances.
You may choose to discuss leave and flexible workplace arrangement options which are available to you.
All disclosures will be confidential.
Mandatory reporting guidelines will be followed in relation to disclosures of domestic and family violence. Find out what is involved in making a report.
Leave and workplace arrangements
Managers and Workforce Services, DCDD should advise the employee of leave entitlements and other workplace arrangements that may assist the employee.
Reasonable adjustments should be considered to ensure the individual’s safety in the workplace, such as:
- different work locations and changes in working hours
- removal of their phone listing
- changes to their work email address.
In discussion with the employee, consider if their information needs to be provided within the work unit while maintaining confidentiality.
